Educational Program

Mutual Support operates three specialized ("Section 20") classrooms in cooperation with the District School Board of Niagara. This provides opportunity for children who have suffered academic as well as emotional delays to receive an education in a non-threatening environment. The classrooms are located in a wing of the Port Colborne High School. This generous provision of classroom space provides the ideal location from which to seek gradual integration opportunities for our students. For the elementary level children, there are elementary schools in the area which have been extremely supportive in providing integration opportunities. The Niagara School Board is recognized across the Province for its progressive approach to special education needs and we are proud to be working in this partnership with them.

School Vision Statement:
"Mutual Support Classrooms will be consistent in providing a safe learning environment through the application of structure, routine and direction in a caring and supporting manner, to foster personal growth and social development". (2003 - by classroom child care staff)
